Why Attend a Recycling Event?
Recycling collection events make responsible disposal easy. Here’s why you should consider attending:
Protect Our Environment
Electronics often contain hazardous materials (like lead and mercury) that can pollute soil and water if not properly recycled. These events ensure safe, compliant handling.
Secure Your Data
Many events offer secure handling and certified destruction of hard drives and confidential documents, protecting your personal and business information.
Clear the Clutter
Instead of letting old tech, cords, and outdated devices pile up, bring them to an event and give them new life through recycling.
Community Support
These events bring neighbors together in support of sustainability and responsible waste management creating cleaner, healthier communities.
How These Events Work
Most events follow a simple drive-through drop-off format:
- Participants stay in their cars while staff unload items.
- Some events are residency-specific (e.g., county or borough residents).
- Exact change or checks are requested for charges on certain items.
- Events are first-come, first-served, often until trucks are full.
Ready to Recycle?
With so many events coming up — starting with March 7th at the RRS facility and continuing through April and beyond — now is the perfect time to join your community in responsible recycling. Visit the Responsible Recycling Services Recycling Collection Events page for the full schedule, locations, and additional details.
Together, we can reduce landfill waste, protect our environment, and make spring cleaning more meaningful — one event at a time.
